I've read a very interesting books by Tom Peters and at the end of my reading journey I've started to realized the importance of savings and the significant of the big question HOW MUCH DO YOU SAVED MONTHLY ?
You can earn big amount of money (definitely I'm not one of them...hehehe) but at the end of the month not many people (according to Tom Peters and even RT Kiyosaki) check on how much they manage to save. I remember talking to a friend of mine who is getting a handsome amount of salary but not being able to save, where one of his problem is lack of motivation to save but lots of motivation to spend. And I do agree with his statement.
So my plan for this month and hopefully the next month onwards is to start saving hopefully with 3 digits and I'll try my best if possible before end of this year to increase it to a healthy 4 digits saving. My motivation ????? It's back to the magic word ...HOW MUCH DO YOU SAVED MONTHLY ...

i follow strictly - pay yourself first
betul2.. spend laju je.. nak save tu yg payah.. bila dah save.. rasa cam nak gunaa je duit tu.. sometimes bila membeli tu.. teringat.. tak pe.. ada lagi duit saving.. tak ke haru cenggitu.. camne la nak save nih!
Standard la tu Bang Bull, lagi besar periuk, lagi besar kerak.
Kata seorang bijak pandai, orang yg kaya bukanlah yang memiliki lebih, tapi yang memerlukan kurang...
huhu... duit byk mana pun rasa tak cukup jer...hehehe
masa memula keja dulu i saved rm500 per month thru salary deduction. but since kita tau tang mana tempat simpan tu kan....senang ja la dok pi korek.
btw, gud article..ni nak kena seriously think and execute nih.

salam zura,

You and the other young people who have commented on your post are being very prudent to take serious steps at this point in your lives towards sustaining a good standard of living in retirement. Most start too late.
"Paying oneself first" is a very good well-established strategy. Having savings deducted directly from one's salary is another, and very painless...you don't miss the money put away before you handle it.
Keep up the good efforts.
Louis,
appreciate your feedback. I'll use that as my motivation to save
save now rather then later.
but paper monies ni value akan terus jatuh and jatuh...so kena strat lain sikit...tapi terus saving
