I've been hearing about this place so many times, yet never have the opportunity to arrange a trip. Finally last month after carefully planning with family members , we're off to Cherating. Driving through Karak Highway (with a breakfast stop at Bentong) took about 3 hours.
Our chalet (I give a rate of 3 over 5) is about 5 minutes walk to the beach. The beach was OK (I rated pangkor higher) , really love the white sand which is really white. The kids really having fun and the weather is fantastic. We also had a seafood session at the famous tanjung lumpur ( the only setback is, we choose the wrong "kedai makan").
Overall it's not that bad. Probably the selection of chalet can be improvised duirng the next trip (if any ...)

Your photos definitely lift the spirit, Abang Rizal! Cherating is a great place for surfing. I know of numerous cheap chalets there. No food provided, but the warongs by the roadside serve lovely food at low, low prices.
