LEPAK2 WITH FRIENDS ...

Dr Nizam Badri an old friend of mine from the schooling days was back from UK for a short vacation. I've set a 'ngeteh' session with friends. The venue is at R&R Awan Besar. As usual Fadhlan and Megat was the 'must attend' member. The surprise visit was from Idi Irwan. It's been probably almost 20 years since we last met. Idi is currently holding senior position with HSCS Amanah.

Overall a very good session.

TAMAN LAYANG-LAYANG KEPONG

It's one of the underrated park in KL. Located not far from MRR2 Kepong it's I would say one of the best public park in KL. It's very popular especially for KL folks to spent their weekend with family and also one of the best spot to fly kites in KL.

Probably the next having trouble finding place to have a quick quality family weekend this might probably the place to go.

PADANG KOTA AKA FOOD PARADISE

Padang Kota in Penang is a food paradise ...hmmmm ..we totally agree with that. Enjoy the photos. The rojak is unbelievable ....:)

WAR MUSEUM, PENANG

War Museum located in Batu Maung , Penang is probably the most underrated history site in Malaysia. I’m not sure what’s the problem but the promotion of this historic site was not much. So during the previous school break we manage (with the help of road sign) to find the place. The entrance fee well, probably a bit to the high side for middle income earner like me but once we’re inside we understand it’s not cheap to maintain a place like this.

According to the owner Abang Rosli, this place was kept secret by British Army and was used for secret and intelligence mission. Almost all the materials was brought from Great Britain and it cost 40 million pound to built it (this was in 1940s). During Japanese invasion it was taken over by General Yamashita and was used as a torture chamber by the Japanese Army.

Although the route is a bit challenging, end of the day we could learn a lot of new historic info. We’re told by the owner that this is a private museum and all the cost is totally manage by his company.

BREAKFAST @ SAFEES SALI'S FAMILY FOOD STALL

THE WARUNG

WITH SAFEE'S FAMILY

ENJOYING THE BREAKFAST

SIMPLE AND CLEAN

THE BANNER FROM THE SUCCESFUL AFF SUZUKI CUP

ME WITH THE YANKEES CAP

SAFEE'S USED TO STAY IN THIS HOUSE

NASI LEMAK WAS FANTASTIC

Safee Sali was probably one of the best striker ever to represent Malaysia. And not many people know that he was brought up in Tapah. My sister in law stays in Tapah and we’ve been quiet a regular visitor to Tapah because of that.

I was told by my nephew that Safee Sali’s dad Uncle Sali has been operating a food stall for many years and the stall is popular for it’s nasi lemak. So during our last trip to Tapah I’ve made plan with them to go there and have a good breakfast.

The stall was a simple kampong stall setup probably next to Safee Sali’s old house. The nasi lemak is really good, I really love the sambal. We even had a photo with Safee Sali’s family. Well everyone knows that he’s currently can be considered as football playing millionaires and probably the stall will be upgraded, whatever it is we’ll be coming back not for the upgrading but for the delicious nasi lemak and who know the next trip it’s safee Sali who’ll be serving us.

Makan2 with friends in Kulim

Iffil and Hatta, thanks for the delicious Fish Head Curry ...

The 2 of them has been staying in Kulim for the past 15 years

Going back to Kulim especially during holidays is something the whole family is looking forward to. I’ve got few friends during uni days that has been working and staying in Kulim for the past 15 years and for the sane duration I can’t (due to few constraints) setup a ‘ngeteh’ with them.

So with the help of FB, I manage to get Iffil and Hatta (both a Intel Kulim pioneering members) for a makan session. They setup the meeting at Taman Selasih a Malay restaurant that serve the best Fish Head Curry in Kulim. We had a wonderful time, and I’m not surprised that they know Kulim much better than me ….

It's early in the morning and it's sunday. The fog was a bit heavy this morning. I manage to capture the scenery which is cool and breezy. It's like experiencing Cameron Highland weather in Jalan Rebung ..really cool. I wish I can have this often.

SHAH ALAM STADIUM

the stadium

add some effect (rumput2) ...wallaaaaa ...

This is the home of Selangor football team ...the Red Giant. It's about 2o minutes drive from our house. The stadium management has prepared a very good spot just outside the stadium for photo shooting. From these angle you can have a very good view of the stadium.

Probably also good for wedding photo shoot ....

BARBARIANS JERSEY

No 12 at your services

Cotton Trader

It's the BARBARIANS

And I got forRM 15 ...good deal

Just another treasure found in the near by bundle shop. Barbarians is probably one of the most well-known rugby club on the planet. The club play rugby not for competitions but simply for the love of this game. Many great players have been recruited by this club for friendly matches against the likes of All Blacks and the others.

So to get this jersey for only RM 15 is a real bargain. It looks brand new and Cotton Traders is among the well known jersey brand in the rugby world. Not really sure who wore no 12 ...but who cares it's the BARBARIANS ...

FUTSAL ASAS 2012

THE TEAM (SAS 8690)

THE LUNCH BREAK (THANKS TO NAZIR)
THE ENEMY ( THIS IS BATCH 8589)

THE PREPARATIONS

THE TOURNAMENT

It's an annual event. It's not really a dead serious futsal tournament but more to having fun while meeting old friends especially the junior and seniors. Our batch fall under super senior category (dah tua la) together with some other teams from other batches.

Overall not a bad outing. 1 win, few draws and losses and although we do not win the competition we really had fun and for me that is the most important matters.
