500K PER WEEK ????

Now lets talk a little bit about global football (it's soccer for you louis ...) scene. The hottest topic that everybody is focusing at is the attempt of Manchester City (aka the other Manchester club) to lure KAKA from AC Milan to Manchester. And it's not cheap as City, currently without doubt the richest football club in the world, will have offer approximately 100M pounds to AC Milan.

The salary to be offered to the player was reported at 500K pounds per week which a ridiculous figures if compared to the current highest paid player at 160K pounds per week. As a football fan I'm OK with City effort in getting one of the world most exciting attacking midfielder but overall especially looking at the amount of money involved .....not sure if it's good to the future of the sport as a whole.

BATA WAREHOUSE SALE

This posting should be posted earlier but ... Anyway, it's back to school and one of the must have item is the shoes and it's not cheap considering my 2 kids need 2 pairs for each of them. Luckily for me this year a good friend alerted me about a BATA (a shoe brand) warehouse sale. And better still it's not far from my house.

Most of the shoes on sale was at RM 10 which is 70% cheaper from the market price. The product condition was good plus BATA do provide a very comfortable sales area. Will definitely put this in my to do list every year.

KOREAN BBQ @ SUNGAI BULOH

Me (in a Yankees Cap !!!!) enjoying the food

The place is clean and organize. (You can sit either indoor or outdoor)

BBQ plus Steamboat in the middle.

I was told by a good friend of mine about this restaurant in Sungai Buloh that serves Korean Style BBQ that combines bbq and steamboat at the same time. So to celebrate my dearest birthday , I’ve decided to bring her and the kids to BBQLAND (the name of the food outlet).

The place is clean and with ample parking space. Price is RM 18 for adults and RM 8 for children (which I think very reasonable). It’s not that difficult to be seated (since I’ve made bookings earlier) and we’ve chosen an outdoor area.

Overall it’s a very interesting foodie experience and to those who have never tried the Korean style BBQ it’s recommended. The next time I want to take any visiting friend for ‘MAKAN’ this place will definitely in my list.

TAMAN MINI MALAYSIA (MELAKA)

The entrance to Taman Mini Malaysia

Waiting for the cultural show.

Traditional Dance

This is from Thailand (the dance not the dancer ...)

At the end of the show, visitors are invited to the stage

One of the traditional house ( I believe this is Rumah Perak)

This is the first time (finally) I step into the place. And although many have said that this placed was a bit of a problem especially in terms of the management, it’s actually not bad at all. It’s a one stop center where visitors can experienced the architecture of traditional houses from all the states in Malaysia.

But for me the best thing apart from the houses is the cultural show that was part of the attraction to this place. Please make sure your timing is correct because the performance (approximately about 30 minutes) will be done twice daily. The morning session is at 11 am and the afternoon session is about 2.30 pm. It shows the variety of traditional dancing from most of the states in Malaysia.

There are actually 2 section of the park. The first section is the Malaysian traditional houses and the second section is the traditional houses from the Asean countries. However the Asean houses was not properly maintained and some have been converted to staff hostel !!!

Whatever the problem is, I still believe with the support from everybody the part can continue to be a major tourist attraction either local or foreign. So the next time you happen to pass by Ayer Keroh Melaka, make sure you visit Taman Mini Malaysia.

SAWIT CORNER

Welcome to SAWIT CORNER

KARIPAP JEEN (you can see the comparison with the ordinary karipap)

Enjoying the scenery and the food

The setup is simple yet very relaxing

Last week I’ve decided to organize a trip to Tanjung Bidara (that is in Melaka) . The trip from Klang to Tanjung Bidara took about 2 hours. This is not the first time we went to that place but this is the first time I notice a very interesting ‘makan’ or eating place about 15 minutes to Tanjung Bidara.

It’s call SAWIT CORNER (Sawit is Palm Tree in English). The name suits the place which is surrounded by Palm Tree. It creates a cool and cozy environment. One of the major attraction is KARIPAP JEEN (extra large curry puff). Looking at the size I think it’s 6 times the size of a normal karipap and it comes with a special sauce.

So the next time you are on a trip to Tanjung Bidara Melaka using the Ayer Keroh Exit please concentrate for the SAWIT CORNER signage (it’s on the right side) and make sure you stop and experience the ‘makan’ while surrounded by mother nature.

BUDGET HOTEL (A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE)

Good Location (Maju Junction is across the road)

Nice setup and the bed is spacious

The super shower (a showerful experience .....)

It's school break and as usual the kids are looking forward for a vacation trip. I've decided due to the slow economic situation to go very domestic that is Kuala Lumpur. The trip is 3 days 2 night that includes Petrosains, Aquaria, Berjaya Time Square , KL Tower and others.

But the actual highlight of the vacation was our first experience staying in Tune Hotel, Malaysia very own budget hotel. And very surprisingly it's a wonderful experience. The total price for 2 night stays is RM 120 plus another RM 20 (for 12 hours air conditioning) is very cheap (considering it's weekend and during school break).
The room was spacious and neat. The exclusion of TV was good since it force us to sleep early and because of that we manage to start fresh early in the morning. I must congratulates the management for installing a very comfortable bathroom with a huge shower (I could spend the whole hour in that bathroom ...hehehe).

The establishment of a kopitiam and seven eleven outlet at the lobby was very convenient. To those looking for a budget hotel with a comfortable facilities and good location why not try TUNE HOTEL.

I'm not always on MC (the last one was 2 years back !!!). But I was on one yesterday. It was a very high fever and I was bedded for the whole day ....hhhhmmm.

Being very sick for the whole day give me a good chance to re-think and re-focus about my plan for year 2009 (surprisingly thinking while sick was not bad !!!). Also it makes me understand more about my body ...that is after a while it need a break and if the break is not given...the result is high fever !!! (more to force break ...hehehehe)

Anyway, it's a good and well-deserved rest and I'm back to office and blogsphere ...
